Position Description

The Telehealth Registered Nurse (RN) provides care to individuals or defined patient populations through the use of telecommunications in accordance with computer-based algorithms, protocols or guidelines. Our skilled nurses use critical thinking and communication skills to assess, plan, implement, educate and evaluate patient outcomes. Services are performed telephonically and interventions are recorded in the computer application.

Location / Work Environment

  • Independent, home office based environment. Must have access to a high-speed internet connection and be able to comply with work-at-home agent requirements.

Position Qualifications

  • RN responsible and accountable for safe clinical practice; must be knowledgeable of customers and regulatory expectations in the clinical area
  • Minimum of three years of recent RN clinical direct acute patient care, ICU or ER experience
  • Entry level clinical call center experience may include basic knowledge of nurse call center procedures and/or company products
  • Fixed (consistent) shift times once a schedule is chosen, some weekend/evening work may be required dependent upon chosen schedule
  • Comfortable with recorded phone calls for quality assurance purposes and monitored computer activity
  • Outstanding communication and telephone skills
  • Must be comfortable dealing with patients of all ages
  • Basic Microsoft computer skills/knowledge
  • Ability to communicate via telephone with members/customers and provide good customer service
  • Ability to multi-task well
  • Demonstrate professional oral and written communication
  • Makes decisions that adhere to policy using basic critical thinking skills
  • Possesses ability to effectively manage time
  • Ability to successfully obtain a RN licence in all 50 states

Education and Professional Licenses

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing within a compact state
